John Sullivan, the first district collector of Udhagamandalam created an artificial lake in 1824. The activities here begins around 8 am and ends at 6pm everyday. People line up at the jetty after buying their tickets and wait excitedly to hop into one of the numerous boats – paddle, oar or motorized. You can hire a boatman who’ll take you around. A mini garden and toy train ride are other attractions nearby.
